Some Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 content won't make it into its successor. This is for a few reasons, but the main one is that the devs just don't want it there.

There's been no shortage of discourse about the skins that have been added to Call of Duty games as of late. That discourse won't be rehashed here; I'll just gesture vaguely in the direction of Beavis & Butthead and you can fill in the blanks.

What's new is the developer's statement on the issue, where they gave their thoughts and illustrated what content will not 'carry forward' into Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

"We know there’s been a lot of conversation recently about the identity of Call of Duty," The statement reads. "Some of you have said we’ve drifted from what made Call of Duty unique in the first place: immersive, intense, visceral and in many ways grounded."

They want Black Ops 7 to feel like a 'spiritual successor' to Black Ops 2 - which feels strange, because it's also a literal successor, but we can set that aside. It's about vibes.
