No Man’s Sky Players Clearly Love Ship Building As Latest Update Triples Player Count

For a nine-year-old video game, No Man's Sky sure does get a lot of updates, and that's credit to the commitment from Hello Games. Since last summer, the title has received the game-changing Worlds Part 1 and 2, a fishing update, and a paleontology update, among others. Hello Games has shown no signs of slowing down, either.

Yesterday, the company released another surprise update to No Man's Sky, adding an impressive array of new tools for players to create their ultimate spacecraft. It appears that this may have been just the tonic for any players facing No Man's Sky fatigue, as overnight, the game's player count more than tripled.

Yesterday's Voyagers update added a ton of new features for players to build "huge, multi-crew custom ships." This included the usual hulls, wings, engines, and thrusters, alongside the addition of internal rooms, such as medical bays, sleeping quarters, war rooms, and teleporters, each of which can be customized and decorated.

The new customization and creation options use the technology from Hello Games' next title, Light No Fire, and it's clear that players are eager to get a glimpse of that tech in action.
