Gears of War: Reloaded's PC launch is turning into a little bit of a nightmare for The Coalition and Xbox Game Studios. Upon launch, the game was hit with "Mixed" reviews on Steam due to a range of game-breaking bugs, missing pre-order bonuses, and no split-screen co-op, despite the game's store page reportedly advertising it.
It appears that these issues have been enough to keep players away, too, as Gears of War: Reloaded has had the worst launch day of any game in the franchise on Steam.
On launch day, Gears of War: Reloaded couldn't even muster 5,000 players on Steam, peaking at 4,819 concurrently, according to SteamDB. This is significantly worse than the two other games from the franchise that have been released on the platform in the past.
Upon its release in September 2019, Gears 5 reached a peak of 10,196 players, more than double the number achieved by Reloaded. A few months later, in April 2020, Gears Tactics launched on Steam, peaking at 7,351 players on its day of release.
