While there's a lot to be said about the issues with Overwatch 2, it's evident that the launch of Marvel Rivals made Blizzard take things more seriously. With a large part of the community jumping to Marvel's hero shooter, the devs had to find a way to bring players back. While the competition is slowly coming to an equal footing, Overwatch 2 is still trying new things.

Among those things are new modes, improvements to matchmaking, and, while Blizzard denies it, focussing a bit more on thirst trap characters. In this attempt, the devs pushed out a new feature called Draft Mode in the game's Stadium, which, unfortunately, was not popular with players at all. Thanks to the backlash, the feature has been removed after 72 hours.

In a Twitter thread a few hours ago, Overwatch 2 game director Aaron Keller revealed that the devs have been listening to player feedback, and have disabled the controversial feature with immediate effect. However, he also noted that Blizzard will keep experimenting with such features in the future.
