For the third consecutive year, the digital games showcase LudoNarraCon will return to Steam. The event will run for several days in the spring, unaffected by COVID as ever. Always built as an online event, LudoNarraCon was not directly affected by the start of the pandemic last year, and this year will run just as smoothly if not more so given the experience (points) we've all gained by living through a pandemic.
LudoNarraCon is a showcase primarily centered around narrative-heavy games. This year's festival will include special guests Sam Barlow (Her Story, Telling Lies) and Tanya X Short (Boyfriend Dungeon). Australian Publisher Fellow Traveller is seeking more exhibitors for the show, which kicks off on April 23 and runs through April 26. Submissions will close on February 5.
In 2020, the event generated nearly one million viewers on Steam and resulted in a 29% increase in store page traffic after the show. “We started LudoNarraCon with a vision for the power of digital festivals to help indie games rise above the noise, so it’s been exciting to see the explosion of events through 2020 and how far Steam has gone in providing the tools to power them.” said Chris Wright, managing director of Fellow Traveller. “We’ve also always believed in the power of curation and feel that genre or flavour-focused events like LudoNarraCon or the Steam Tabletop Games Festival are important ways to help like-minded developers and players connect around a shared passion. We’re proud to be playing a role in helping innovative story-rich games to get their moment in the spotlight.”
Though it's a digital event, the show is still segmented as though attendees are there on the showfloor, including demos, a "main stage," early access for press, and a Steam sale which will coincide with the event.
If you're a potential exhibitor, you're encouraged to get in touch with Fellow Traveller by visiting the event website. Sign-ups close on February 5.
