Bungie held its first playtests for Marathon earlier this year, and they did not go well. The results of those tests led to Marathon's planned September 2025 release date being pushed to an as-yet-unrevealed new launch window. Work will have been done on the game since then, and if you've been lucky enough to receive an invite to Marathon's next playtest, you can earn as much as $500 just for taking part.
An email sent to select Marathon playtesters, shared by The Game Post, reveals that the multiplayer shooter's next test will take place behind closed doors and run for 30 days. The test will be open to invitees between 3 pm and 7 pm PST on weekdays, and a slightly longer window of 2 pm to 8 pm PST on weekends. However, you will only need to play for an hour each day to qualify for a $500 gift card.
As relayed in Bungie's email to testers, to qualify for a $500 gift card of your choosing come the end of the 30 days, players will need to play for at least one hour each day for all 30 days. So 30 hours of Marathon game time...
