It feels like the return of the Splinter Cell franchise has been teased for years.

Earlier this year, before Summer Game Fest, Ubisoft teased Splinter Cell with a cryptic post. Sadly, the event came and went without any announcements, so it was brushed off as nothing more than a silly meme.

The company has reportedly been hiring for roles that "demonstrate examples of interesting and fun gameplay setups that feel uniquely Splinter Cell."

Still, for now, it's been all smoke and no fire, despite the demand for the return of Ubisoft's stealth-action franchise. According to a leaked internal slate of upcoming Ubisoft games, though, that may be, finally, changing.

According To Leaked Document, Ubisoft Is Planning A Splinter Cell Remake Within The Next Few Years

Recently, Tom Henderson at Insider Gaming reported on the upcoming Rayman Remake.

Ubisoft has since said that the franchise is in "good hands," but in terms of anything substantial, there's nothing official. However, Henderson's report, which mentioned that Ubisoft is working on a new Rayman title, includes the full slate of what Ubisoft has in store over the next few years, and yes, it includes a Splinter Cell remake.
