On Friday, March 27th, 2026, IO Interactive and James Bond fans will be able to witness a brand-new incarnation of the United Kingdom’s most famous MI6 agent in the upcoming third-person, action-adventure game, 007 First Light.
Unlike prior James Bond games, First Light isn’t directly based on a book by Bond creator Ian Fleming or any Bond film like Rare’s famous N64 FPS classic GoldenEye 007.
Instead, First Light is an original, modern reinvention of James Bond with elements inspired by the celebrated books and movies, such as the use of Monty Norman’s iconic James Bond Theme music.
While First Light was first announced in 2020, it was only until the title’s 2025 State of Play Gameplay Deep Dive that IO Interactive revealed the identities of several characters fans can expect to see in the game and the actors portraying them.
