Metroid Prime 4: Beyond finally has a release date, December 4, 2025, so we can all rest easy and stop complaining, right? Well, maybe not. Even though we now know when exactly the game will be here, the pre-order bonuses, or specifically the lack of them in certain parts of the world, have rubbed some Metroid fans the wrong way.
The bonus that's causing the most fuss isn't actually a bonus at all. It's an additional, actually pretty handy, Prime 4-themed item that has been bundled with the game - a desk mat. The mat features the same model of Samus that can be found on the game's cover, and has presumably been created with Prime 4's mouse control compatibility in mind.
Even though you won't be able to use mouse controls on the original Switch version of Prime 4, you can also buy the mat bundled with that version of the game.
The bundle includes Metroid Prime 4, its matching desk mat, and a set of holographic stickers featuring Samus and other characters from the game. Here's the kicker, though. If you're reading this in the US, the desk mat and stickers are not for you....
