It has been announced that Jamie Lee Curtis has joined the Borderlands film.
It has been announced that Jamie Lee Curtis has signed on to the upcoming Borderlands film. According to Variety, the actress will be playing Dr. Patricia Tannis, who serves as an archeologist in the Borderlands games.
"Working with the iconic Jamie Lee Curtis has been a life long dream of mine, and I am so excited for her to bring her humor, warmth and brilliance to the role of Tannis," stated director Eli Roth.
"Jamie is unique in that her characters have depth and gravitas, but are also always hugely entertaining - she commands the screen," stated Nathan Kahane, Lionsgate Motion Pictures Group President. "At this point, Jamie is like family to us - after bringing so much to 'Knives Out' and hosting last summer's 'Lionsgate Live' fundraiser to help theater workers, we could not be more thrilled to be working with her again."
Curtis is not the only actor to be attached to the Borderlands film in recent times. Last month it was announced that Kevin Hart will be featured in the movie, and will be taking on the role of Roland, one of the original vault hunters from the first Borderlands game. Though Hart is mostly known for his comedic films, this will be a much more serious role for him to play. It was also announced last year that Cate Blanchett will be playing Lilith, a Siren and one of the four original characters from the first game in the series. The two final vault hunters from the original game, Mordecai and Brick, have not been casted at this point in the film's development.
The most recent Borderlands title, Borderlands 3, is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
