Fortnite has a new limited-time mode that adds a feature that fans have been requesting for a long time.
Following reports from a few days ago that it would be added this week, Epic Games has finally added proximity voice chat to Fortnite, restricted to the new Delulu limited-time mode.
It was made available to everyone today, but those with creator codes got early access to it, and they’ve been having a lot of fun with it.
As things go with online games, and like has recently happened with Fortnite in particular, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before players start abusing this new feature now that it’s available to everyone, but for the time being, most people seem to have been enjoying it.
What Have Players Been Doing With It?
Delulu is an 80-player variant of the solo Zero Build mode, and the idea behind adding proximity chat is to give players a chance to forge new alliances and even form a squad of up to four members on the fly, even though only one of them can get the victory royale in the end.
