Even though Skate has been more positively received by veteran fans than expected, they're still think it's a step down from the GOAT Skate 3 in one key area.
Before the new Skate reboot launched, a lot of Skate fans weren't particularly happy with the free-to-play multiplayer focus that it was going for. While nothing has actually changed with that focus, now that Skate is actually out, a lot of fans have mostly accepted it for what it is, even if the microtransactions are still a bug-bear.
Even if a lot more people are enjoying Skate now than previously expected, that doesn't mean that it's escaped the wrath of classic Skate fans. For many, Skate 3 is still the absolute peak of the series, and fans have pointed out one way that the classic undeniably beats the reboot - cruising.
