Dragon Quest Creator Yuji Horii Hints At Zenithian Trilogy Remakes After 7

Imagine you lack any real familiarity with Dragon Quest. Now, imagine that you take a glance at Square Enix's order of operations for its ongoing efforts to remake the series. First, there was last year's Dragon Quest III: HD-2D Remake. It will soon be followed by Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake. Early next year, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined will join the fray. Surely, this would all seem terribly random.

As many know, however, Dragon Quest III is set prior to the celebrated series' first two installments. Hence, the chronological approach to remaking the original trilogy. And VII, well, it's off in its own world, as several later Dragon Quest entries tend to be. What about IV through VI, though? They form their own loose trilogy, set within their exclusive realm of Zenithia as they are, and both the fourth and the fifth entries are so frustratingly beloved that some DQ diehards are all in a tizzy that the VII remake announcement may mean they've been skipped. But never say never.

Dragon Quest's spectacular creator, the one and only Yuji Horii, participates in a monthly streaming show alongside Weekly Shonen Jump's former editor-in-chief, Kazuhiko "Mashirito" Torishima....
