As If There Weren't Enough Crossover Characters, Someone Added Shrek To Sonic Racing

By this point, it's been made abundantly clear that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is more than just a Sonic the Hedgehog game. In many ways, it's the Fortnite of Sonic titles, featuring characters from throughout SEGA's portfolio, plus others like SpongeBob SquarePants.

As if there weren't already enough "Guest" characters, one fan decided that Shrek should also be in the game. Over on Nexus Mods, creator Hallow has managed to add Shrek as an overlay for Dr. Eggman.

"Shrek races to save his family from bankruptcy," the tagline reads.

It's as zany as you'd expect, and yet, somehow, Shrek does not feel out of place in the world of Sonic. Seriously. We could totally see Shrek chastising Shadow for being too moody or hanging out with Big the Cat.

Of the non-Sonic-related characters available at launch, there's Hatsune Miku, Ichiban from the Yakuza Like a Dragon series, Joker from Persona 5, Steve, Creeper and Alex of Minecraft fame, plus SpongeBob and Patrick.

Again, that's just what's available right now. There's post-launch support planned for CrossWorlds, which will see Mega Man, Pac-Man, Avatar the Last Airbender, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, along with more SpongeBob and Minecraft representatives added to...
