There's A Reward For Making It To Silksong's Citadel Without Using The Quill, But I'm Not Sure It's Worth It

Hollow Knight: Silksong is a challenging game. So challenging that I can't imagine doing it any other way than intended to make my journey through Pharloom even harder than it needs to be. That's why I'm not the one who discovered that, if you make it to the Citadel without mapping the game as you go, you'll be rewarded with a special quill.

The quill is supposed to be one of the first items you unlock in Silksong. It's available to buy Shakra right at the beginning of your journey, and it fills in parts of the map that are otherwise crudely drawn, incomplete scribbles whenever you rest in any given area. I can't begin to imagine how much more difficult it would be to make it through the game without it, but clearly, multiple people have managed to do so.

One of those people is JessieWarren09. They shared their accomplishment on the Silksong subreddit, revealing that they made it all the way to the Citadel without mapping Pharloom with a quill along the way. Turns out there was a reward awaiting them for doing so once they got there and defeated Trobbio - a purple version of the quill...
