Borderlands 4's Nintendo Switch 2 Release Has Been Indefinitely Delayed, Digital Pre-Orders Cancelled

Borderlands 4 might be a pretty good game on a fundamental level, but it's been no secret that it's struggling with performance issues. Not only was the game lambasted by fans upon its release, but Randy Pitchford has been on an almost constant tweeting spree ever since, talking about the game's problems, offering up solutions, and sometimes being fairly unhelpful.

Last week, quite possibly the game's most serious issue was confirmed by Pitchford himself, as he claimed that Borderlands 4 gets worse on console the longer you play. While not confirmed, that's an almost sure sign of a memory leak, and it didn't help Borderlands 4's reputation of being an unoptimized mess. Now imagine all of that, and think about how Borderlands 4 would run on a Nintendo Switch 2.

Even before Borderlands 4 launched, reports were coming in about how rough the game was on Nintendo Switch 2 during previews, and it seems Gearbox hasn't had enough time to improve things to a satisfactory level.
