If You Play Baldur's Gate 3 On Steam Deck, You Can Now Run The Game Natively

Baldur's Gate 3 has long been Steam Deck verified, so I'm sure plenty of you have made the most of this. I admit, the idea of playing Larian's CRPG epic on the go is appealing, but I did take one look at the performance and decided to stick to PC and home console. I mean, it wasn't bad, it was just quite the compromise.

But now, we shouldn't have to compromise so much. Not only is Baldur's Gate 3 still Steam Deck verified, but it will now play through the Steam Deck natively. This means less memory and CPU usage as you play, which should make a noticeable improvement to the performance.

This comes as part of Baldur's Gate 3 Hotfix #34, the latest update for the game. It implements bug fixes across all platforms, but the big draw here is native Steam Deck support. With this, Larian promises "a more stable framerate, lower loading times, and smoother gameplay."

The patch notes also mention performance improvements across all platforms, thanks to the work that went into the Steam Deck build.

If you have Steam Cloud saves turned on, then you should be able to play this new and improved version...
