Even though one Hollow Knight: Silksong player basically confirmed that Wanderer is the most reliable crest, a popular YouTuber has argued that it's not actually the best crest.
Without a doubt, one of the best things about Hollow Knight: Silksong is how Hornet feels to play. Unlike the Knight in the first game, Hornet starts out with a ton of different moves and abilities, which makes her feel distinct and gives her a fair shot at a game that's undeniably harder than we all expected.
Hornet doesn't just unlock new moves as you progress through Silksong, either, as she also gains access to entire new movesets called crests. There are a variety of crests in Silksong with widely different playstyles, so it probably doesn't come as a surprise that it's very hard to pin down which of them is the best.
