Resident Evil Requiem's Producer Really Wishes People Would Stop Treating Leaks As "Gospel"

Resident Evil series leaks are all the rage these days. Often, they prove accurate. Sometimes, not so much. How much do the leaks ruffle feathers over at Capcom? In some ways, less so than we might think.

Speaking with the director of Resident Evil Requiem, Koshi Nakanishi, and series producer Masato Kumazawa, VGC understandably inquired as to how leaker culture has affected the development staff. In a sense, it's an honour to be thought about so much, and to prompt such fervent speculation. When things are inaccurate, however, that's when the glum mood truly begins.

VGC asked how disruptive leaked information can be. Koshi Nakanishi had a nice outlook - they illustrate a keen desire from fans to learn more. "[The] fact that people are so interested that they want to see the information we haven't revealed yet, and then they start discussing online and speculating about things," he says, "it shows a huge amount of interest and passion on behalf of the fans."
