Hades 2 leaves early access and is available on PC and Nintendo Switch 2 today. Seems like it's going to be everything fans of the first game wanted and more as not only has it matched its predecessor's incredible review scores, but it's officially the highest-rated game of the year with only three months left to go.
After debuting with an already impressive 93 on OpenCritic, Hades 2's score has moved up to a 94 as more reviews for the sequel have gone live. That puts it level for the highest-rated game of 2025 with Shujinkou. Since Hades 2's score is based on 46 reviews, and Shujinkou managed a 94 based on just seven, I think it's fair to say that Hades is the frontrunner at this late stage in the year.
