Gearbox's new approach to Borderlands 4 has definitely worked out. Keeping Claptrap on the fringes has managed to keep the humour from going slapstick, and the open world gives you the option of doing whatever you want. Both critics and fans agree that the devs have delivered on their promise.
However, it does have its fair share of problems. Constant crashes, stability and performance issues, or just badly planned features like the clunky UI and invisible walls, are preventing players from fully enjoying the game. The devs have already released two updates to fix the performance issues, but the latest one, launched only yesterday, has somehow made things worse for some players.
As spotted by PC Gamer, yesterday's update was supposed to further iron out the stuttering and fps drops, but some players have reported that it caused further issues. Most have reported that it has improved the game overall, but a small percentage are facing issues that has made the game almost unplayable.
"How does an update to improve performance make the performance even worse?," said one reply to the update announcement on Twitter. Similar complaints can be seen on Steam and Reddit. I went back to the game...
