Silent Hill and Resident Evil are two of the most iconic horror franchises that go way back. While both series were quite active since their launch till 2012, the latter, even if slow, still had some pipeline and made a comeback with RE7 and later became popular again with the RE2 Remake in 2019.
However, this wasn't the case for Silent Hill; the series had been in a drought for more than a decade. Now, add to it the extra damage that fans received after PT got announced, only to be canceled. It wasn't until last year, when the Silent Hill 2 remake was released, that any hope for the series was restored. And it seems like this lack of new games has done some damage to some die-hard fans.
