For Pokemon fans, this week was a rather important week, what with the release of the Mega Evolution expansion set, as well as a new distribution event at GameStop. This one, involving being able to claim a shiny Koraidon or Miraidon via a one-time redemption card.
As anyone could've guessed heading into Friday's release, things went rather poorly, with scalpers chasing down every last bundle of Mega Evolution, and those free shiny cards quickly being listed on eBay for exorbitant prices.
Wait, what? Yes, you read that right. The distribution Pokemon is now being scalped, with some listings coming within minutes of a store's opening.
As first spotted by content creator PhillyBeatzU on Twitter, the free in-store game promos have quickly flooded the eBay marketplace.
Indeed, a cursory search for "Shiny Koraidon" on eBay brings up several dozen results, all of which are remarkably expensive. In one listing, bidding for a single promo code reached $47, while another seller, who reportedly has four promos on hand, is selling theirs for a flat $90.
