Despite Failing His Driving Test Multiple Times, SpongeBob Is Somehow A Handling Character In Sonic Racing

If you've watched SpongeBob SquarePants for any period of time, you'll know that SpongeBob is not a good driver. Wait, scratch that. SpongeBob is an atrocious driver, having failed his driving test so many times that it's hard to understand why he'd even get a chance to retake it.

That said, for whatever reason, in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, SpongeBob is considered a "good" driver. We wish we were joking, but as spotted by a Twitter user, SpongeBob has been classified as a "Handling" character, which is extra hilarious not only because he can't drive, but has also run over multiple creatures in Bikini Bottom. AKA the exact opposite of good handling.

For those not in the know, as TheGamer's Rhiannon Bevan outlined in her review, characters in CrossWorlds have various classes, giving players a give-and-take type scenario when it comes to choosing the optimal selection. Which is to say that, canonically speaking, SpongeBob should've probably been given a faster class, where he'd be harder to control.

But this is Sonic Racing we're talking about here, and cannon and lore almost certainly don't exist in this universe.
