Exclusive: “Hopefully It Contextualises How We’re Approaching The Game’s Story” - Resident Evil Requiem Director Reveals Who The Games Mysterious Hooded Figure Is

For the last few months, Resident Evil Requiem has been subject to intense speculation. Leon has been front and centre of most of it, with fans anticipating the character’s seemingly-inevitable return, but a mysterious hooded figure from one of the game’s earlier trailers has also had fans talking.

Resident Evil 4’s Merchant has been a popular guess, as have Chris Redfield, and somehow, Wesker and Ethan Winters.

Growing increasingly frustrated with the speculation, Resident Evil Requiem Director Koshi Nakanishi revealed a hint towards the identity of the character exclusively to TheGamer in a recent interview at Tokyo Game Show.

At Tokyo Game Show, I asked Nakanishi and producer Masata Kumazawa if they would reveal any more information about the heavily speculated-on hooded character and the game’s other antagonists. They politely declined, wanting to keep surprises under wraps, but pointed to hints that the Umbrella Corporation’s logo had been featured in trailers.
