Mojang confirmed during today's Minecraft Live that the Copper Age update will release on September 30, bringing with it an old rejected Mob Vote: the Copper Golem. But that's not all that the studio has to offer this year.
Dye icons have also been revamped.
Also revealed during the showcase was the upcoming Mounts of Mayhem drop, which includes a brand-new weapon: the spear.
Its damage scales based on how fast the player is moving, as it's designed to be used in mounted combat, but all I'm picturing is how devastating a blow from a 200-block ice bridge would be. The mace might finally have competition.
With it being a mount-focused update, there are, of course, new mounts. Chief among them is the Nautilus, an aquatic mob that can be tamed with a pufferfish.
What separates them from boats is that they can speed up underwater and hold onto your air supply, letting you breathe freely—incredibly useful for Ocean Monument delves. And like with horses, you can equip them with copper, iron, gold, diamond, and netherite armour, which is found in chests.
