The sequel to Supergiant Games' hit 2020 roguelike has been in early access since May 2024. However, its true ending has only been added with the Hades 2 1.0 release on September 25.

Three days later, some fans who have been playing since early access have already managed to unlock Hades 2's true ending, though a vocal portion of them isn't satisfied with how things have wrapped up. One such complaint comes from Reddit user Shonkshonkshonk, who authored an elaborate essay (spotted by TheGamer) arguing that the game ends on an incredibly anticlimactic note, largely because Chronos's redemption arc happens so fast that it can hardly be called an arc in the first place.
