Expect The Third Entry In The Final Fantasy VII Remake Trilogy To Change Things Up Again

I, like many of you, was a little nervous about the direction of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy by the time the credits rolled on 2020's Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Was the game good? Absolutely. It was a long time coming to see these characters look this good, and the combat is an excellent hybrid of real-time Soulslike action and party-based combat. The story, however, felt like it was ready to go off the rails.

Not only did we spend about 20-ish hours in the game's opening five-hour section, but there was a lot of teasing about how the story and destiny were going to be changed.

Thankfully, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth put an end to that nonsense and was one of the best games I played in 2024. I was hooked from the very beginning, fell in love with its open world, and yes, cried as the credits rolled. No, I'm not too ashamed to admit it.

Hopefully, it won't be long for Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox owners to experience Rebirth. Final Fantasy VII Remake Integrade is coming January 22nd, 2026, and Rebirth will presumably not be far behind. However, there's one...
