We're just around the corner from the premiere of Critical Role's fourth campaign, featuring new dungeon master Brennan Lee Mulligan of Dimension 20 fame.
Critical Role's longtime dungeon master Matthew Mercer will participate in the campaign as a player.
Mulligan, in some ways, has an even more daunting task than Mercer faced over Critical Role's last three campaigns. That's because this campaign will be 'West Marches' style with three different parties, totalling thirteen players.
These three groups are the Soldiers, the Seekers, and the Schemers, with each episode focusing on one of these groups until their stories collide later in the narrative. As you can imagine, running this game and telling this story is set to be a gargantuan task for Mulligan.
In an interview with Wargamer, Mulligan addressed the scale of the journey ahead.
"It's funny, because I've had multiple people check in on me because of the Heruclean epicness of this undertaking," he explains. "I get more than I would frankly like being like, 'Are you OK man?' And I have to keep reporting that my mental health is at an all-time high, because this is my favourite thing in the world, and I get to play this...
