Yakuza Fans Are Boycotting Kiwami 3 Over A New Actor's Recent Sexual Harassment Controversy

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties has been causing a bit of a stir ever since it was revealed last week. For starters, a lot of fans were upset about the recasting of certain characters, with fan-favorites like Rikiya and Nakahara undergoing pretty drastic redesigns, leading to accusations of Ryu Ga Gotoku erasing Okinawan culture. Now, Yakuza fans are threatening to boycott the game, but over something far more serious.

Another character that was redesigned for Yakuza Kiwami 3 was Goh Hamazaki, one of the game's main villains. Instead of previous actor George Takahashi reprising his role, Ryu Ga Gotoku decided to hire actor Teruyuki Kagawa and remodel Hamazaki to better fit his new actor's likeness. It was an unpopular decision among fans, but not completely outrageous.

However, after a bit of digging into Teruyuki Kagawa's background, fans discovered that the actor is quite infamous in Japan. Back in 2022, Kagawa made headlines after a report came out which claimed that he had groped a hostess back in 2019, took off her bra, and passed it around his colleagues.
