One of the reasons that Henry Cavill departed from his role as Geralt in Netflix's The Witcher was that constant back and forth he would have with the producers over deviating from the source material. The series is, of course, based on The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski, which is a collection of short stories about the famed Witcher.

While the Netflix series gets a lot of flak for not sticking to Sapkowski's book, nobody really said anything to CD Projekt Red, whose game was far different from anything that the author put out. In fact, Sapkowski recently revealed one of the biggest differences between his work and the video games, and it's the concept of different Witcher schools.

As we all know, Geralt of Rivia belongs to the school of the wolf, and there are other Witcher schools like that of the snake, manticore, bear, etc. In fact, each of them even have special sets of armor that you can find in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
