The day has finally arrived, as one of the longest-running rivalries in video game history takes an unexpected turn, with Digimon Story: Time Stranger reviewing better than Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.
While people may scoff at the quality of the later Pokemon games, it doesn’t change the fact that they’ve sold many millions of copies, and have had some highly acclaimed titles along the way. Pokemon Black & White is one of the few games to ever get a perfect score in Famitsu magazine, which is a feat that Digimon has never achieved.
The tides may be turning in Weregarurumon’s favour. The review embargo for Digimon Story: Time Stranger is up, and the scores are coming in. According to OpenCritic, Time Stranger’s Top Critic Average is 82, while Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s score on OpenCritic is 71.
