If you were worried that AI is becoming a bigger problem for the gaming industry day by day, you can rest assured. It is. OpenAI just launched its Sora 2 video generation model, and it took less than 24 hours for something to pop up online that raises a fresh batch of ethical questions regarding a subject that's already mired in ethical quandaries across the board.
Cyberpunk 2077's gameplay footage - can Sora 2 re-enact that via a single prompt? It sure can. How close can it get? Pretty darn close. How is CD Projekt Red feeling today? Unclear. Maybe we'll find out soon enough.
As you can see above, at least one person is already hoping CD Projekt Red gets involved on a legal basis, but whether they'd wish to, and how much of a case can even be made when advancements in this field are so fast-paced - those are questions I'm hardly equipped to answer.
