Final Fantasy 11 Is Getting Even More Popular, As A Second Server Closes Due To Overpopulation

Final Fantasy's two big MMOs are both in very strange states at the moment. On one hand, you have Final Fantasy 14, which is losing players at a pretty steady pace, while also struggling to attract new ones. It's been in a state of decline ever since the release of Dawntrail, and director Noaki Yoshida is trying everything from Occult Crescent to Monster Hunter collabs to bring people back.

On the other hand, you have Final Fantasy 11. It's an MMO that's well over two decades old, but has seen a steady surge in players over the past few months, with it being likely that many of them are disenfranchised FF14 players. In fact, so many people have been flocking to the game that it's most popular server, Asura, had to halt character creation and effectively close up due to problems with overpopulation.

However, while FF14 can't seem to bring in new players, FF11 seemingly can't stop them from coming.
