Halo's Combat Evolved Remake Is Reportedly Real And Being Co-Developed By The Oblivion Remastered Team

There aren't many Xbox games left on the PS5 port bingo card. The biggest domino of all is yet to fall, though, as there's still no official sign that Halo, in any form, is coming to PS5. That might be because Xbox is waiting until it reveals its rumored Halo: Combat Evolved remake, with another leak about its co-developer making the project feel more real than ever.

Halo Insider Rebs Gaming shared new information about the supposed Halo remake on their YouTube channel. They've claimed that while Halo Studios is the lead on the project, Virtuos, the team behind Oblivion Remastered, has been co-developing the Combat Evolved remake alongside them.

In addition to that, and as you might expect with Virtuos allegedly on the case, the two studios have taken the same approach to the rumored remake as was taken with Oblivion's remaster. As was the case with Oblivion, the new leak claims a hybrid engine that includes Unreal Engine 5 has been used to remake the original Halo game.
