Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Is Reviewing Far Worse Than The First Game That Wasn't Even Finished

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2's reviews are in, and it's not looking good for the long-awaited sequel. Right now, it sits at a Metacritic score of 64 (PS5) and an Open Critic score of 66.

For comparison, the first game - which was largely considered unfinished at launch - has a Metacritic score of 80. Back then, critics could look through the problems and see the makings of what is now a cult classic RPG. But with Bloodlines 2, it seems like The Chinese Room's gamble on turning it into a more action-oriented RPG with a prewritten character has failed to resonate in the same way.

Writing for TheGamer, features editor Chris Hayner gave Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 a score of 2.5/5. He criticised almost every aspect of the game, from the stripping down of the RPG mechanics to the writing and characters.
