Nintendo Wants To Make History With Ridiculous Switch 2 Production

Nintendo is drastically ramping up production of the Switch 2 going into 2026, which will shatter records, assuming they actually sell the consoles.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has had an incredible first year, breaking the record for sales in the first three months of its launch that was set by the PS4. This is despite only a handful of exclusives and being mired in controversy regarding its decision to sell titles on Game-Key Cards that may one day be worthless.

The question now is whether the Switch 2 will maintain its momentum, especially going into the critical first holiday season. Nintendo seems to think so, as there are reports from Bloomberg that the company is asking its suppliers for a huge increase in console production.

Nintendo Wants To Make 25 Million Switch 2 Systems

According to Bloomberg, Nintendo has asked suppliers to produce way more Switch 2 units by the end of March 2026, bringing the total number up to 25 million units. If Nintendo actually sells those units, as it's been doing so far with the current crop of systems, then it will continue to shatter sales records.
