Arc Raiders is releasing into a pretty hostile and crowded market right now, with new online shooters like Battlefield 6 sucking up as many players as they can get. There were worries from some about whether the game could end up being buried, but thanks to what we can see from the game's ongoing server slam, it doesn't appear like that will be the case.
First reported by PC Gamer, it appears as though the final Arc Raiders playtest is putting up some incredibly impressive numbers on Steam at the moment. At its peak, Arc Raiders managed to set a player count of just over 185,000, which is one hell of a feat considering the game isn't even officially out yet, and that this is literally just a test to see how many players the Arc Raiders servers can handle.
Even more impressively, this number managed to propel the Arc Raiders playtest into a comfortable fourth position on Steam's most-played games leaderboard, just below behemoths of the industry such as Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and the recently released Battlefield 6. We can most likely expect this number to grow going into the weekend too.
