It's been 22 years since one of the best Grand Theft Auto clones ever to hit store shelves... well, hit store shelves - The Simpsons: Hit & Run. For many kids, it practically was GTA, the family-friendly version for parents who wanted to steer their children away from the seedy glitz and glamour of Vice City.
Yet even with GTA in hand, all grown up, there's still an allure to this wonderful spin on the Rockstar format, injected with some of that signature Springfield humour. It's no surprise, then, that fans have been clamouring for its return, whether that's a remake, a sequel, or hell, just a port. PS Classics, c'mon.
Edward 'u/Hassaan18' Bear is one such fan, starting a petition for an overdue return to the series nearly a decade ago. These kinds of petitions are thrown around all the time in gaming, and never really amount to much, but what's fascinating here is that not only did Bear start a petition nine years ago, but they've continued to push for signatures ever since.
