The God Of War TV Series Still Hasn’t Found Its Kratos, Wants Actor Comfortable With “Intense Physicality And Possible Nudity”

In December 2022, Amazon greenlit production on a God of War TV series for its Prime Video service. The show is being helmed by showrunner Ronald D. Moore, who, by their own admission, isn't a gamer, but details outside of this have been few and far between. A mysterious pair of actors were reportedly revealed to be in the running for the role of Kratos last month, but naturally, this hasn't been confirmed.

While Moore may have preferences for the roles of Kratos, Atreus, and God of War's other diverse characters, they may be little more than that. Reportedly, casting for the show hasn't even fully begun yet, with a casting call only going out over the last few days.

The report comes from TV and movie insider Daniel PRK's Patreon page, who has suggested that casting has recently begun for the upcoming series. The casting call, which uses fake names, is looking for five characters. These are speculated to be Kratos, Atreus, Odin, Sif, and Baldur.
