The Director of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy has confirmed that the series could continue on after the events of the third game, either through DLC or even a full title.
The Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy spreads the events of the original over three titles. The first game ends with the party leaving Midgar, and the second ends with the battle at the City of the Ancients. However, the story is diverging, and the remaining events could play out in different ways.
In an interview with WccfTech, Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy Director Naoki Hamaguchi was asked about the possibility of DLC for either Rebirth or the unnamed third entry in the series. Hamaguchi revealed that, while there won’t be DLC for Rebirth, there’s a chance more content could arrive for the third game.
