The Sinking City 2 Delayed to Next Year Due to Russia-Ukraine War | TechRaptor

Developer and publisher Frogwares has revealed that its upcoming horror game The Sinking City 2 will be delayed into next year, and it's all down to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.

In a news post on its official website, Frogwares says that although it technically hasn't announced a release window for the survival horror sequel, it acknowledges that both its fans and Frogwares itself "were expecting a 2025 launch".

However, thanks to "frequent drone and missile attacks, incoming power outages, and the need to adapt to unstable conditions" owing to Russian attacks on Ukraine, Frogwares says it needs additional development time to "finish the game properly".

Despite the rather grim reason for the delay, Frogwares says that additional time will also allow it to "polish [its] first-ever survival horror experience"; The Sinking City 2 won't be an investigative adventure game like the studio's usual fare, but a classic survival horror title instead.

Frogwares promises that the extra time will allow it to make The Sinking City 2 "tense, atmospheric, and deeply unsettling in all the right ways", promising to honor the survival horror genre's focus on "tension, pacing, combat, and atmosphere".
