Pokemon Trainers Are Being Terrorized By An Overpowered Magikarp In Legends: Z-A

More than 1,000 Pokemon later, Magikarp remains one of the least respected creatures the series has ever seen. After almost three decades of being the butt of the joke, it seems one Magikarp, in particular, is determined to get some revenge, as the overpowered Water-type has been attacking unsuspecting trainers in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

You can find and catch pretty much as many Magikarp as you like very early on in Legends: Z-A. They're swimming freely in Wild Zone 2 which, despite the game's slow-going tutorial, you visit for the first time within the first couple of hours. Like most other Pokemon in Legends: Z-A, Magikarp will try to attack you. However, their attacks begin and end by jumping up onto dry land and flopping around while you pass by unharmed.

That's unless you've encountered the alpha Magikarp lurking in Wild Zone 2. While most Magikarp know nothing more than Splash, which doesn't do anything, for some reason, a rogue Magikarp is living in an otherwise serene park near the heart of Lumiose City that has somehow learned Hydropump.
