Critical Role Game Master Brennan Lee Mulligan Reveals The Big Bad Of Campaign 4

Critical Role saw big changes for campaign four, with Brennan Lee Mulligan coming in as dungeon master. Of course this meant a lot of changes from the way Matthew Mercer ran campaigns, with possibly way more deaths. With the campaign well under way, fans are hooked, calling the current one better than campaign three.

While it's going to be some time until the BBEG reveals themselves, Mulligan has already gone ahead and told us who it is. It's no demon or dragon, but something far more sinister: Capitalism. It sounds like the party may have its hands full and pockets empty dealing with massive corporations. But it's much more than that.

In a recent video, Mulligan, along with Robbie Daymond, was asked about the main antagonist of the campaign. His answer was pretty cryptic, revealing that it was capitalism. "Capitalism is the big bad of this campaign, but we have to acknowledge that we are going to be historically accurate," he said.

"One of the worst things about capitalism is that though it seems inevitable, it's actually quite a recent civilizational system," he elaborated. "Money [and] commerce is far older than capitalism, so in this world we have some proto-instances...
