A Ghost of Tsushima movie is on the way.

On the PlayStation Blog, it was announced that a Ghost of Tsushima film is currently in production. Developer Sucker Punch will be partnering with Sony Pictures on the movie. According to the blog, Chad Stahelski will be directing the film. Stahelski previously worked John Wick, and has years of experience, creating some of the finest action scenes.

"I know I speak for everyone at Sucker Punch by sending out a massive THANK YOU to Ghost fans," stated Game Director at Sucker Punch Nate Fox. "Your support for the game is what makes opportunities like a movie come true. It's been a sincere pleasure checking out your photo-mode images posted online and fighting alongside you in Legends. We're so happy to be on this ride with you."

In the blog post, Fox also announced that Ghost of Tsushima has sold more than 6.5 million copies. He also stated that roughly half of those who bought the game made it all the way through.

Ghost of Tsushima released last summer. The game takes place in the 13th century, with the Mongol empire laying waste to entire nations along their campaign to conquer the East. The island of Tsushima was all that stood between mainland Japan and the Mongol invasion. As the island burns, samurai warrior Jin Sakai stands as one of the last remaining members of his clan. He is resolved to do whatever it takes to protect his people and reclaim his home, including setting aside the samurai tradition that he followed. The game features a beautiful open-world, as well as immersive samurai combat that allows gamers to test their blades. They will also develop stealth tactics that will allow them to disorient and ambush their enemies with surprise attacks.

Ghost of Tsushima is available now for the PlayStation 4.
