Factorio Switch 2 Edition Announced with December Release Window | TechRaptor

Wube Software has announced that its hugely popular factory-building sim Factorio is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, and it'll boast a host of improvements on the new machine as well.

In a blog post, the studio says it's currently aiming for a December release, although Wube is very clear that this is "not an official release date". The studio says it doesn't want to announce a release date yet since "certification and store setup can take a long time" for Nintendo's consoles.

As well as the base game, Factorio's Space Age expansion is also coming to the Switch 2, and it'll launch alongside the game. They won't be packaged together, though; Space Age will set you back $35 on Switch 2, but Wube does say that it'll feature exactly the same content as the PC version.

New features on the Switch 2 version of Factorio include improved resolution, support for variable refresh rates in handheld mode, and higher-quality visuals, as well as speedier loading times and the "ability to build much larger bases".

You'll also be pleased to learn that Factorio will support mouse controls on the Switch 2, so you can ditch your controller and use your Joy-Con...
