Perhaps the most annoying thing about Baldur's Gate 3 taking all that time and effort into creating your Dream Guardian, only for them to turn into a self-centered Illithid. The second most annoying thing is when they turn against you if you refuse to eat the tadpoles. And the third is when he shows up in the final battle on the Netherbrain's side. Basically, The Emperor is pretty darn annoying.

His lies and manipulation run so deep that very few players have ever chosen to go along with him and turn into Illithid, and those that did, only did it to see what happens. If only there was a warning about his lying and gaslighting ways. It turns out that Baldur's Gate 3 actually does warn you, but you'd have to be a bookworm to find the warning.

As spotted by whyimhere1 on Reddit, there's a book called On Psionic Manipulations and Countermeasures that can be found throughout the game, most notably at the Githyanki Creche in act one. Its sole purpose is to warn clueless fools like Tav and crew about the manipulative ways of the Illithid.
