Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake is almost upon us, and if you're just tuning in, this is a sequel to Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, which launched late last year. Yes, indeed, the first two games are direct sequels to the third. That's just how it's always been, and always will be. DQIII's remake was lavish, extensive, and in my mind, altogether definitive; this puts it potentially at odds with the upcoming Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, which may or may not have enough new stuff to make up for all the things that are getting tossed out along the way.
Anyway. Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake. It's here in under a week. October 30, to be exact, and it's coming to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. And, if anything, it looks to be adding far more fresh content than its predecessor did. Frankly, it's a bit dizzying just how far Square Enix is going with this one.
In a new look at the beginnings of each of the game's two, well, games, Square Enix and developer Artdink have given us all the more reason...
