A Halo: Campaign Evolved developer has revealed the reason why the remake doesn't include any PVP multiplayer. While players will still be able to enjoy up to four-player campaign co-op in Halo: Campaign Evolved, the series' typical multiplayer offerings won't be featured here.
When Halo: Campaign Evolved was first announced, many were shocked to see it didn't feature multiplayer. Over the years, it has become a defining part of the Halo experience, so to ship a game (even a remake) without it feels strange. However, it's worth noting that the original Halo: Combat Evolved on Xbox still supported LAN multiplayer, while Campaign Evolved has nothing of the sort.
Speaking to Windows Central, executive producer Damon Conn was asked about why the focus was put on Halo: Campaign Evolved's campaign in the remake. In an age of multiplayer shooters, it's a bold move. "We're not trying to replace what is a masterpiece in the original.
