Wizards of the Coast has confirmed that some of its newest Magic: the Gathering products will be seeing a delay as a result of a manufacturing defect. The massively popular trading card game has ramped up its production with a wide variety of highly-anticipated new expansions launching throughout the year. 2025 has seen Magic: the Gathering truly embracing its "Universes Beyond" line of crossovers, bringing everything from Final Fantasy to Spider-Man and more. Now, however, some new products are now set to release a little later than expected.

One of Wizards of the Coast's main ways of bringing exclusive new cards to Magic: the Gathering comes through the game's frequent "Secret Lair" drops. Secret Lairs serve as a small curated collection of cards players can pick up through the Secret Lair shop, typically featuring reprints of older cards with new artwork. Secret Lairs have often given Magic: the Gathering a way to bring in new smaller crossovers, like the recent "PlayStation superdrop" adding popular franchises like Horizon and God of War.
